A New Baby Sister for Emily | Hopkinsville, KY Newborn Photographer { frogs and faeries }

Big Sis Emily was so excited to share her new little sister with me! At almost three, you never know what to expect out of siblings during a newborn session, but Emily was super! All it took was a few made up silly songs by me, and we couldn't have made her stop smiling!

Harrison Is Here! | Murfreesboro Newborn Photography { frogs and faeries }

Where I have I been here lately? I know, I know - I've been such a bad blogger! I have been super busy this month - and I've gotten behind in my session previews on here. Not to mention that this might just be the LAST blog post on this blog! Most of you have seen the new website that has been in the works for months, and a brand new blog is about to be launched as well! Super exciting stuff!

Without further ado, meet Harrison - the sweetest little gentleman I could ask to photograph!

He was pretty awake for the first few minutes of his session:

Then after a bit, he fell right to sleep.

Tyler is 2 | Middle Tennessee Children's Photography { frogs and faeries }

A friend of mine and fellow photographer, Karen, of Karen Halbert Photography met up for a little adventure around Franklin last week. We actually met over two years ago on a February Babies birth board when we were pregnant with our sons who were born just 2 days apart! We all know how hard it is to photography our own children, so we decided to tagteam our boys! I have to say that I got the much smoother end of the deal seeing as how Tyler was the perfect angel to my Jake's little devil act that day! However, Karen ended up getting some amazing shots of my little man even through his best efforts to throw her off! :)

This is a little embarrassing for me to say, but other than with me, my children have never had a professional portrait session! Shocking, I know! I have enjoyed this experience so much . . . from deciding what clothes for Jake to wear to worrying if he would behave to being proven wrong that he would (he's always been great at taking pictures!) to then worrying that I bet there was no way Karen (through no fault of her own) could have gotten any decent shots of Jake.

To the most incredible feeling of love, joy, amazement, and awe when I saw my sneak peak. My heart literally swelled with pride and love for that sweet little two year old who so easily runs my life these days. Up until this point, I had never experienced this feeling that I hope I give to you all each time you see your sneak peaks. I can't believe what I was missing out on. With each image, I felt myself come closer and closer to tears. Then I got to the image of Jake in my lap with my camera up to his face and me helping his "shoot". I lost it. Tears of love and happiness fell down my cheeks. I was (and still am) beyond ecstatic. Karen did an AMAZING job. I can't wait to share my images on here with you. But for now, if you are curious - just head on over to my FaceBook page and you should be able to access them there.

I know I'm rambling, but it's like I've had an epiphany. It's indescribable to see my children through the eyes of another artist. Finally experiencing the feeling that I hope to impart to all of my clients has really made me LOVE my job that much more.

But on to Tyler (who this post was supposed to be all about before I got all emotional!). He was such a well behaved 2 year old! And blue eyes for DAYS!!!

Then we moved on to downtown Franklin for some Mommy and Tyler images. I am LOVING family sessions here lately - the totally non-posed, day in and day out ways that you celebrate your family.

Bryce | Middle Tennessee Newborn Photographer { frogs and faeries }

Ahh! Sweet Baby Bryce - another Unicorn newborn! Bryce is 6 weeks old, but was born 5 weeks early. 6 weeks old is not a good time to schedule a newborn session - the baby has had time to uncurl from the womb and he/she definitely doesn't sleep as heavily. But with premies, you have to take into account their adjusted age which put Bryce at just one week old. And he was definitely still super sleepy! LOVE every single thing about this kiddo! :)

He has the THICKEST lashes - they are double layered!

8 Days Old | Murfreesboro Newborn Photography { frogs and faeries }

I visited Baby K this week for her newborn session. At just 8 days old, she was very alert and aware of her surroundings. Not to mention TINY!!

But after some swaddling and rocking, I got her to sleep.
