Tiara and Tadpoles Halloween Mini Sessions | McMinnville Children's Photography { frogs and faeries }

I had a great time on Sunday at Tiara and Tadpoles Children's Boutique for Halloween mini sessions. I met awesome, fun kiddos and their really sweet parents! I'm so looking forward to the Christmas mini sessions next week!

Now, it's off to Columbia to visit with my grandparents for Halloween. Then back home for some serious editing (maternity session, two weddings, a family session) so I can enjoy Saturday without thinking about work! :)

Urban Baby | Nashville Baby Photography { frogs and faeries }

Urban sessions mean a few things - fun location, lots of color, texture, and dimension, and some really cool clothes. I think we accomplished all of those with this session in downtown Nashville. Addison's mom contacted me a few months back wanting an urban session for her daughter's one year pictures. We had originally scheduled for the beginning of October, but I was super sick the day of, and then the day of our reschedule was really cold. No worries though b/c our third date worked out perfectly. It was a bit chilly, but Addison didn't seem to mind at all. She made the funniest faces during the session!

Thanks Mom, Dad, and Addison for a fun day!

Addison had just started walking a few days before her session.

Durham-Oates Wedding | Middle Tennessee Wedding Photography { frogs and faeries }

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Brian Oates!

Saturday, October 17 didn't turn out as anyone had expected. It was damp, gray, and COLD! Barbara and Brian had googled average temperature for their wedding date and were happy to know that for that particular date, it was a nice 70 degrees. Mother Nature definitely had other plans for the day, but we stood up to her, ignored the cold, and got some killer images!

From the moment I met Brian and Barbara, I knew that it would be a great wedding. For one thing, they are both GORGEOUS!!! (I mean, I don't think it's possible to take bad pictures of these two!) They are also a super sweet couple who are very much in love with each other and excited about the future ahead of them.

We always start off with images of the bride getting ready. It's one of my favorite parts of the day. I love all the behind the scenes action.

Barbara and Brian decided to get all of their pictures done before the wedding. I always love it when a couple is up for this. It takes a lot of stress out of the day and allows the couple to just enjoy their family and friends after the ceremony. With couples that chose this option, we do what is called a First Look. My assistant and I take the bride and groom to a secluded location so that they are alone when they see each other for the first time. Pictures taken during this time are always some of my favorite of the entire day.

You may be wondering if this takes away from the specialness of the groom seeing his bride for the first time walking down the aisle. Just ask Brian - it doesn't! The man who "never cries" (and that's straight from the bride's mouth!) teared up a bit when he saw Barbara walking toward him! :)

After the First Look, we headed out to get some images of just the couple. I've got lots more I aim to show, but here's one of my favorite:

Then we split up for individual shots.

Thanks Barbara and Brian for inviting me to document your wedding day. You two are an amazing couple! Love you!

Two | Murfreesboro Children's Photography { frogs and faeries }

Meet Gage - an on-the-go (almost) two year old. It was fun to watch Gage b/c he and Jake are almost the same age. It's fun to watch the similarities that are present in all little boys - the NEED to run everywhere, the obsession with trucks and tractors, and last, but not least, their unconditional love for their mothers.

Gage was all of these things. He's fast! And totally obsessed with tractors (good thing we went to Cannonsburgh!) and completely attached to Mom.

Amanda + Kyle | Murfreesboro Engagement Photography { frogs and faeries }

I am so, so, so, so, so, so (ok, I think you get the point) excited to do this wedding! Amanda and Kyle are just my kind of people - laid back, a little bit quirky, and able to laugh at themselves. We instantly meshed, and I don't know about them, but I had so much fun during their engagement session.

Do I even need to mentions how good looking they are? And to think, they were worried about looking awkward . . .

Awkward - I think NOT!!!

Ooh, I just love, love, love the total hotness in this one!

Come on, May 2010 - I'm READY for this wedding!!!

One of my Own | Murfreesboro Children's Photography { frogs and faeries }

I frequently get requests for more pictures of my own babies on here, but sadly, I don't have a whole lot of time to devote to photographing my own children. Sad, I know, but what's that saying about the cobbler's children having holes in their shoes (or something like that!)? I do a pretty good job of taking the kiddos out for quick sessions every few months, but then the files just sit in the computer hoping that I'll find time to edit them! :) I got a few free minutes today, so I decided to devote them to pictures I took of B a couple months ago.

I bought this dress for her last year (!) with the hopes of doing a session like this, but just never found the time before it got too cold. Luckily, she's a little shrimp, so the dress still fit this year. Originally, I had envisioned her in a golden field with an old suitcase (which I'd still like to accomplish), but we were running late, and tried this location instead. I'm super, super happy with them.

I know I'm biased, but she is GORGEOUS to me. I just love this girl so much. Looking at these images reminds me of how lucky I am that God gave her to me. Out of all the mommies in the world, he picked me. Thank you.

B is such a sweet soul. Very compassionate and caring for both other people and animals. Loves cats and dogs. She hates to see her brother cry. She is very laid back and mellow. She's happy to just sit on the couch as long as she is melded into my side. She loves to spend time "with just you, Mama." She's going to marry either her Daddy or her Uncle John when she grows up. She has a very passive spirit that at times I find heartbreaking.

I love you, B.

Wilson Family | Murfreesboro Family Photographer { frogs and faeries }

I met up with the Wilson Family on Sunday. I've known Dad for a long time - since sometime in middle school! I can even remember a science fair project we did together that involved white mice! What's even worse than that? I kept one as a pet! Ahh!

Nate and Lori have two sweet gorgeous daughters. D1 is two and a half and D2 just turned one. Mom dressed both girls perfectly in Matilda Jane dresses and then tutus and leg warmers later in the session! Mom also brought an old distressed couch to the session. She so gets it! :)

I knew leaving this session that I would be blogging more than the normal amount. With two gorgeous girls, awesome clothes, and cool props, how could I not?

P was quite possibly the happiest one year old I have ever photographed! She was so good!
