Baby Jackson | McMinnville Newborn Photography { frogs and faeries }
Baby Jackson wins the prize for the most alert newborn yet! He was so awake and happy - just chillin' while I got everything set up and ready for him. I took him thinking, "Oh, yeah. I've got this. I'll get 'cha to sleep, buddy." At the same time, I believe that Jackson was thinking, "Oh, no, you won't, lady!"
So, I swaddled him all nice and tight and started rocking and swaying him. And rocking. And swaying. And rocking. And swaying.
Jackson won Round 1.
"Hmm . . . I'm not so sure about this lady . . . "
"Ok, she might be kinda funny . . . "
Round 2
More rocking and swaying. A little help from Mom with a feeding. More rocking and swaying.
I win Round 2. (I always win!)
Ahh, so peaceful. I love this one.

Then, Jackson wakes up again for just a bit. Love the eye contact here!

Family | Murfreesboro Baby and Family Photography { frogs and faeries }
Nana got in touch with me about doing a session for her daughters and their new babies, but we had a pretty narrow time frame since one of her daughter's lives in England and is only in for a little while! You guys definitely win the prize for Farthest Traveled For A Session (sure, I know you came back to the States for other things, but this had to be the main reason, right?). :)
These cousins are just about 3 months apart and both oh, so stinkin' cute!
Rowan:
Emerson:
I was really feeling the love between these new Mamas and their babies during my time there, and I love how it just pours out of these images . . .
. . . if you're a photographer, you know that moment, right after you've just clicked the shutter, that you instantly know you've just captured something really special? That's how I felt about these next two. To me, they just exude the bonds between mothers and their children. Such pure love and undying sacrifice; knowing that you would do anything for this sweet life you are responsible for . . .
And the one that just reaches in and grabs my heart:
Nana, Mama 1 and Mama 2 if one of you don't print this one out HUGE, then I might just have to and pretend that you are my family!

Little Lady Anniston | Mufreesboro Baby Photographer { frogs and faeries }
Anniston was back in for her six month session, and I'll be honest, she just keeps getting prettier and prettier! She has such a sweet disposition - I think I could have just held her the hold time and not taken a single image! :)
Rolling over is so much fun.
The last three images taken. I think that's a pretty good end to a great session!

Max | Lewisburg Newborn Photography { frogs and faeries }
I traveled to Lewisburg yesterday morning for a session with brand new Max and his family. I have NEVER seen as much hair on a baby as Max has! His grandma calls him Elvis! :)
Max was 10 days old yesterday. It's very important to schedule your newborn session as soon as possible. I usually recommend Days 4 - 10. Getting them photographed so early typically ensures that the baby is still VERY sleepy and very moldable (is that a word? SpellCheck is telling me it isn't, but you know what I mean!). Mom did a great job of getting little Max in on time, but Max had other plans than sleeping the whole time! But from what I understand, that's because he slept 7 hours last night! SEVEN hours! 10 Days old! That's amazing!
One of the things I enjoy with newborn photography is that no session is ever the same. Each baby has a different temperament, they need to be soothed in a different way, some are very flexible, while others most definitely are not. Max gave me a little challenge into getting him asleep, but I loved every minutes of snuggling and cuddling with him while I did it.
But, of course, in the end, I prevailed! Ahh, victory!
I love this one in BW too, so I had to show them both:
On the way home, I was kicking myself for not getting Max's hair into a mohawk for the next shot. But, as Max was a light sleeper, it took a bit of work to get him into this position. And he gave me exactly 2 shots with it, so not really any time for a hair style change! :)

Gotta run | Murfreesboro Newborn Photography { frogs and faeries }
Gotta run (headed to the Kenny Rogers concert with the hubs!) but I just had to post one from my newborn session last night! This little girl was a doll!
Mom - I promise to have your whole sneak peak up tomorrow!
As promised, here are some more of this cutie pie!
The itty bitty parts:
Resting on Daddy:
This next one shows Baby Adelyn's patch of white hair right on top of her soft spot. Mom and Dad are in love with it, and I have to agree - it's pretty dang cute!
Maybe it's gas, maybe not - but what it definitely IS is too stinkin' adorable!

Miss Riley - 9 Mos | Murfreesboro Baby Photography { frogs and faeries }
Miss Riley needs no introduction as she's a regular on the blog! :) 9 months is such a fun session. Babies can really vary at this age - some are crawling and some haven't quite mastered the skill yet. Riley - yep, she had it down pat!
I'm super excited to blog this session b/c I got to use two new backdrops that my dear sweet hubby built for me. I love them!
This one is made of wrought iron tiles!
And this one is a pretty paisley print:

Big Ole Baby Boy! | Murfreesboro Newborn Photography { frogs and faeries }
That's exactly what Morgan is! Born at 9 lbs 6 oz and almost 22 inches long - he gets the prize for my biggest newborn to date! He was a super light sleeper, but after lots of patting and a couple snacks, we got him settled into a little nap and were able to get some great images of him.
Thanks, Mom and Dad for having me out to your home!
