This session has been a work in the making. Originally, we were scheduled for the end of September, but since bad weather was threatening, we decided to reschedule for the first of October. It's a good thing that we rescheduled b/c the day of their session, my son fell (jumped - who knows!) off the back of the couch and had to get stitches! The second scheduled date was completely rained out, and we had to postpone until mid-November. I was a little nervous that the weather wouldn't hold out for us, but we were pleasantly surprised. I don't think we could have asked for a nicer day!

Or a nicer family! The kiddos were super well behaved, and Mom and Dad were so much fun!

I have to take a second to applaud all of my clients here lately who have done an excellent job in the wardrobe department. I love all of the hats, scarves, accessories, etc. that you are adding to your outfits. It's really the small things that make the most impact!

Kasen was one of the best well behaved toddlers I have had in quite a while!


And big Sis Kennady is gorgeous!!

Oh, how I loved this wedding. LOVED it!!!! Becca and Lee are AWESOME! I knew from the minute that I met them that they would be up for anything. And when Becca told me that the wedding was going to have a '40s vibe, I got super, super excited. Then she told me that she was wearing bright red heels with her dress - I think I almost cried! :) Immediately, I envisioned using apples as props in some of their shots.

"Apples?" you're thinking. Yep - apples. And I'm so happy with how they turned out!


Lee and Becca have the cutest niece ever! You may even recognize her since she's been coming to Frogs and Faeries since she was 6 months old! Of course, she couldn't resist the apples!


The wedding party included seriously some of the coolest peeps ever! They were up for whatever I wanted to do and had so much fun doing it! There were also some really festive fall decorations everywhere.



Becca and Lee chose to see each other before the wedding - which I LOVE! Doing all photography before the wedding takes a lot of stress out of the day, and let's everyone involved just relax and enjoy the day.

I'm digging all the fall colors in this one.


Watch out, Lee - you've got a feisty one! :)

It's hard to believe that these sweet girls are already 4 months old! It seems like yesterday that I was at their newborn session. Anslee and Addison are getting cuter by the day!

A family that is near and dear to me | Murfreesboro Family Photography { frogs and faeries }

This family is super special to me. I met them back two years ago when I did Brylee's newborn pictures at just ten days old. Brylee has grown into a sweet, gorgeous, spirited toddler in such a short time! And Brylee's mom has become one of my best friends. She is the most thoughtful, caring, and generous person I know. I love you, girl!

I wanted to try some new things in the way of family sessions, so I knew that Denise would be up for anything. I was really trying to capture gorgeous light and the essence of family. Nothing to posey-posey.

Denise - thanks for volunteering up your family and I hope we got some you like!

Some of My Own | Murfreesboro Children's Photography { frogs and faeries }

My cousin's sweet kiddos came up for a photo session a little while ago. Since I didn't have a babysitter that day, I had to take my two kiddos along with us (thank goodness my aunt was there to wrangle them!). I wasn't sure how the youngest one, Kayleigh, would do with my two added distractions, but she was awesome! Big Brother Kayden was a rock star too!

My cousin really wanted a good picture of the two of them together. Sibling shots are a lot harder to accomplish than you might think. Inevitably when one sibling is doing exactly what they are supposed to, the other is picking his nose, eating dirt, or watching the dog in the next field over! The stars rarely align when both siblings are doing just what need to be done. The older the siblings, the more likely we are to get a great sibling shot. Kayden and Kayleigh at 5 1/2 and 2 1/2 did wonderful (have I mentioned how they were working under less than ideal circumstances with my two rugrats running around?). Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful.

I love the little smirk on Kayleigh's face!

He looks so much like my uncle and my brother that it's spooky!
