Luke was born at 37 weeks, and his parents did a great job of getting him in as soon as he came home from the hospital. Luckily. little Luke didn't have to spend any time in the NICU, and I met him at just 4 days old and under 5 lbs! He was a little bug, but oh, so, so good. Luke's session is a testament to scheduling newborns ASAP. The younger they are, the more deeply they sleep and they are still very flexible. Luke didn't mind at all the crazy positions I was putting him in!
When I arrived, Mom was just finishing up nursing Luke which gave me just the perfect amount of time to set up. Then, Dad took Luke for a little burp, and Luke fell asleep on Dad's chest. And that's all she wrote; let the fat lady sing! Luke NEVER woke up! He never even stirred! AND he didn't poop or pee once! What a little angel!
I could have stayed all day with Luke and his awesome parents. Mom is totally in love with her new man, and Dad is smitten with his new family. As I was setting up, I overheard him tell Mom how beautiful she looked. (Sorry to call you out, Dad, but I just love things like that!). And Dad's not exaggerating - at 4 days postpartum, Mom is GORGEOUS! I can't imagine that she could get any prettier! I have some great family images that aren't going to make it into this post (hey - I had to stop somewhere!), but I hope to post again in a few days with them.
Introducing Luke Alan:

I love just how tiny he looks in this one!

We even mohawked his hair!

And moved on to his nursery:

And finally into a bassinet that his Wa-Wa (that's his granny!) made him:

oh my goodness! these are gorgeous and I love your use of natural light. He is soooo sweet.
OMG- the one of him near the window next to the bear- PRICELESS!!! It shows how absolutely tiny he is- I would cherish that as a mom. It will also be fun to photograph him there with the same bear as he grows.
I love those black and whites. So sweet!
He is adorable! You did a great job, as usual!

Fantastic shots of a beautiful baby! Loving his little mohawk and that shot in the nursery with the bear melts my heart.
